Transcripts

Q: How long does it take to get a transcript?
A: Normally transcript requests received by mail or fax are filled within 24-48 working hours of receipt.
Transcripts may be ordered and picked up at our front desk (Suite 110, Baker Building, 110 21st Avenue South) from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Currently enrolled students may order transcripts through the AAI and pick them up in our office on the same day.

Q: How much does each transcript cost?
A: There is no charge when ordering transcripts.

Q: Can I order an unofficial transcript?
A: No. All transcripts produced by the University Registrar's Office are official documents, printed on security paper and bearing the Registrar's signature and the University seal. If you are a currently enrolled student, you can access your academic record on the Web at:
http://www.vanderbilt.edu/aai

Q: I ordered a transcript but discovered I had a financial hold. Once I clear up my hold, how long will it be before my transcript is released?
A: Within 24 hours of the time the Office of Student Accounts or the VU Loan Office enters your payment in their system, the Office of the University Registrar is notified to release your transcript. If you clear your hold and need to immediately pick up a transcript you have ordered, you must ask the Student Accounts or Student Loan Office to override your hold so that your transcript can be released immediately.

Q: Can I place an order for, or pick up a transcript for someone else?
A: Because transcripts are confidential documents, only the person to whom they belong can request them. However, students can submit a signed request and indicate in the request that their transcript(s) may be picked up by a designated third party.
